We are collaborating with many area agencies including the Dayton Foundation and the University of Dayton to develop a comprehensive community engagement plan for brain health and traumatic brain injury, including filling our community’s gaps in supporting families and individuals with traumatic brain injury and creating community awareness of brain health and traumatic brain injury as a public health priority. Advocating at the state level to get more funding and support for TBI survivors and their families. Hosting social events for TBI survivors and their families–SEE OUR EVENTS PAGE for more information. Informational Care packages for TBI patients and their families are given at local hospitals. Helping fund research by a University of Dayton graduate student relating to social-emotional support for young adults with TBI’s.
Young Life camp scholarships are given each year to help students attend camp. Financial assistance has been given to anonymous families whose children have suffered a severe TBI injury. Scholarships are given to one soccer and one football player each year at Bellbrook High School. Hospital gift cards are given to families whose children will be at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for an extended stay in the rehabilitation unit.
